Pop-up notification
A pop-up notification when a message is received would be a nice feature. Also the ability to set the amount of time the pop-up stays visible for.

Drag-n-drop file transfer
One should be able to drag a file and drop it onto a contact in the roster, or an existing chat session with a contact, to send it to that contact.

Keyboard search / text filtering for the contact list planned
Navigating a long contact list by scrolling is impractical. Sorting contacts in groups barely helps. Pandion needs the find-as-you-type searching and sorting. Several other IM clients already implement this in some way.

maintain message history independent of contacts
i feel the message history needs to be maintained independent of contacts preferably as individual files as:
1. it allows viewing history even when the contact has been deleted
2. the user need not be logged into pandion to view the history

ability to skin the main window
the main window should be skinnable. frankly one may get tired of viewing the contacts in the whitish background and groups in bluish color.

Custom send message shortkey
When typing messages with paragraphs or line endings it would be good to not have to press Shift+Enter. Option should provide choice of the hotkey for sending a message. Enter/Return key with a Ctrl/Shift/Alt modifier or without modifier.

better support for hyperlinks in messages
when i enter a hyperlink in a message and immediately enter a punctuation mark (.,?). upon submission, the punctuation mark becomes a part of the hyperlink.
this needs to be avoided.

If a workstation is locked the autoaway feature does not work.

pandion icon should display status
instead of just displaying "pandion" the icon should display the status:
* as idle, available, etc.
* moreover the icon color should grey out if the network is not available, so that the user knows visually that he has been disconnected -

Organizing received file transfers in folders
Received files should by default be stored in:
".../My Documents/Pandion Received Files/*.*"The "..." button on the incoming file transfer is not intuitive and should be modified with a better label and size.

Opening more than 1 instance of Pandion
Tha hability of opening more than 1 client, so in this way I can use, for example, jabber on my work + googletalk.

right-click to send mail
Would be great to right-click the contact and get a send mail option which opens the default mail client with that email-id.

Avoid hassle for the user to manually resize their avatar.

better formating of messages
copying message contents from an active conversation to another breaks the message as the time-stamp and the username interfere with the message.
